INTERVIEW STARTS
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Good evening everyone.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Good evening to you ma'am.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: This is The Pastor's Wife Welfare Organization Int'l. Welcome to the Hot Seat Session of our program. So, please, could you introduce yourself?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: I'm Mrs Catherine Umeh, Secretary, The Pastor's Wife Welfare Organization Int'l.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: How long have you been in this organization.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: 7yrs ma'am.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Wow! Can we know about your family, are you the first child?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: I'm the first among 3 children (1female & 2 males).
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Awesome! Tell us more about your qualifications.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Alright, I had my primary and secondary education in Delta State, Ogwashi-Uku to be precised. Then, has my tertiary education in Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) where I Studied Mass Communication, Class of 2011. I had my National Youth Service at Oju College of Education, Benue State between 2012/2013.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: As a member of this organization, can you boldly tell us the things you've learnt? But, in our personal character and the lectures.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Hmmmm! Things I've learnt here are actually countless. But, I will say that I've really learnt that being a pastor's wife is no child's play, like I used to see it before. It requires a lot of hard work, tolerance, determination, some level of spirituality and lots more. I've also learnt that we are all humans irrespective of the positions we found ourselves
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: If you're given the strength of autonomy in decision making in this group for 24 hours, what change will you effect?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: It's that of active participation in our activities. A lot of us are "read and waka pass members" in the organization's Holy House. I noticed only few members participate actively to keep the house lively.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: You are right! Is your husband a pastor?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: No, he's not, but he is a man that loves the things of God.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Congratulations!
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Thank you ma'am.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Please, I will ask you some questions about your marriage. Note, you can decline anyone you are not comfortable with.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Alright, ma'am.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: So, what attracted you and got you convinced that he is the right person?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: I saw in him a tolerant heart. He tolerates me, because I know I can be naughty sometimes. He loves the things of God. He detests lies, and that gladens my heart, because I know how terrible it makes me feel. He loves to help people too. He actually understands me and knows when I'm not happy and a lot more.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Are you a sex person?
Guest - Catherine Umeh: Not really o
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Do you think marriage can be successful without active sexual intercourse?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: No! It's part of what makes a successful marriage.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Lovely. You got married last month?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Yes, ma'am!
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Can you explain your experience now that you're married and when you were single.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Well, now that I'm married, I now understood the level of freedom I had as a spinster. This is because, I can no longer do things or go anywhere without telling my hubby unlike while I was a spinster. I now feel like I have more responsibilities now than before.
Observer - Surv. Mrs. Oyewumi A. O: Cuts in. So, try all your possible best to keep to it oh. Men love sincerity, loyalty and faithfulness. You get it? Yes, now is permission for this and permission for that. It is well.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: No be small thing oh.
Observer - Surv. Mrs. Oyewumi A. O: Cuts in again. But, if you abide with it, you will enjoy your hubby.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Cathy, do you know that this marriage journey is a long one?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Yes, ma'am. I do!
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: The sacrifice for a successful marriage is not equal to the excitement of that deal day. The day you said, "Yes I do!"
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Sure!
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Do you have shock absorber? Smiles!
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Smiles back. God will give me the needed one for any challenge that comes.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: I love you already.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Thank you, ma'am.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Cathy, in the next 5 years, with your effort as the secretary, where do you think this organization will be?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: It must have been heard globally, and will even have to host the "World Day of Pastors' Wives" in diaspora.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Cathy, with God helping you, you are the one to make your marriage work. Pray for your husband, cry when necessary and clean your eyes. In marriage, love gets hot and cold. Handle your love life well. You must learn Patience, Tolerance and Forgiveness. If your husband offends you in the room, just go to the restroom and ease it off; work down to the sitting room, from there to the kitchen, sip any available juice or chilled water, then go back to the living room ...undress and give him good sex. Misunderstanding must come, please, handle it with wisdom. Above all, make yourself happy.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Thank you very much ma'am.
Host - Evang. Mrs Blessing Jerry: Cathy... Thank you for your time.
You're the first to honor HOT SEAT SESSION in The Pastor's Wife Welfare Organization Int'l
See you in November 13th through 15th, 2023
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: Wow! I was really scared initially, but I'm glad I made it. Thank you ma. Displays love emoji.
Observer - Surv. Mrs Oyewumi A. O: Cuts in again. Let me drop this with you. Marriage is sweet when you make it sweet and the other way around when you also make it so. It is what you give, you will get back. Don't keep any secret, no matter how small; be loyal, faithful, obedient and above all prayerful. God will grant you wisdom, ma. I love you plenty.
Observer - Pst Mrs Eno George (Court Governor): Cuts in also. My advice to you. First of all, congratulations once again and thank you for sitting on the 'Hot Seat'. Please, always remember that what keeps a marriage is COMMITMENT. A marriage ends the moment one party gives up their commitment. I pray for both of you, that God will give you the grace to remain committed to each other's welfare in Jesus mighty Name. Amen!
Further more, my question to Cathy. What's your advice to other singles aspiring to get married?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: I will advise them to trust in the Lord, that what He says, he will do because God doesn't work with our own time but His. And they should also not be afraid to ask questions about where truly their relationship is headed, this is because most ladies see it as sign of desperation, but it's not. For many have been deceived with marriage promises that doesn't come to reality.
Observer - Pst Mrs Eno George (Court Governor): Cuts in again. What qualities should single ladies look out for in a prospective partner?
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: The kind of qualities that "A" wants in a partner might not be the kind of qualities "B" wants. But, I will say that most importantly that a true partner should:
1. Have the fear of God.
2. Tolerate you.
3. Understand you.
4. Be interested in your activities.
5. Give you good advice.
Observer - Pst Mrs Eno George (Court Governor): Thank you for your response. You know, some single ladies only look at the outward appearance of a man. Not minding his faith, attitude, mental state, etc.
The Bible says that the things which we see are temporal and those things we do not see are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18, KJV
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for THE THINGS WHICH ARE SEEN ARE TEMPORAL; but THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN ARE ETERNAL.
Thank you for your time and God bless your home.
Guest - Mrs Catherine Umeh: You're very correct ma'am, and that's where we get it wrong.
